Principal Platform Engineer

About the role

Mastercard’s Cloud Platform team is looking for a Principal Platform Engineer to drive the design, implementation and operation of Azure‑based cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with application development teams to deliver automated, reliable and scalable platform services.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain Azure infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Azure services from development through deployment, operation and continuous improvement.
• Design scalable, automated platform solutions that enhance reliability and delivery velocity.
• Develop and enforce best practices for logging, monitoring and alerting.
• Participate in sustainable incident response and conduct blameless post‑mortems.
• Collaborate with DevOps tooling such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, BitBucket, Artifactory and SonarQube.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven experience designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large‑scale cloud systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to debug, optimise code and automate routine tasks.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
