Press Operations Support

About the role

The Press Operations Support role ensures smooth extrusion production on assigned presses, coordinating with supporting teams to maintain safety, quality, and production targets. The incumbent works on the shop floor, making real‑time decisions to keep processes running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned extrusion press and allied equipment according to standard operating procedures.
• Maintain product quality, perform calculations for billet length, extrusion length, and butt‑end discard, and identify defects on the spot.
• Promote and enforce safety measures, ensure all personnel wear PPE, and report incidents or accidents to the shift controller.
• Achieve targeted production volumes while optimizing die speed and minimizing press stoppages.
• Conduct sample checks using Ascona before and after material stretching.
• Troubleshoot common issues such as flashing and bulging, and take proactive actions to avoid operational delays.
• Coordinate shift handovers to ensure continuity and proper vertical log storage utilization.

Required profile

• Experience operating extrusion presses in an industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and incident reporting.
• Ability to perform technical calculations related to extrusion processes.
• Capability to make quick, on‑site decisions regarding product quality.
• Willingness to work shift schedules and collaborate with QA and process teams.
