Olefinic Chemical Technologist

About the role

The Olefinic Chemical Technologist will drive operational plans for both established and new product/technology projects. The role focuses on evaluating new technologies, benchmarking performance, and supporting pilot activities and plant trials to improve efficiency, safety, and product innovation in line with RIL's technology strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to increase capacity.
• Participate in root‑cause analyses and provide engineering recommendations.
• Support senior technologists in defining upgrades to equipment, processes, and technologies.
• Assist in improvement projects aligned with technology strategy and operating plans.
• Evaluate catalysts, chemicals, and additives to optimise processes and product quality.
• Manage pilot studies, ensure milestone adherence, and facilitate scale‑up to plant level.
• Execute commercial plant trials, validate emerging technologies, and oversee transition to full‑scale production.
• Perform simulations and APC models to optimise processes and anticipate challenges.
• Create quarterly product performance benchmarking reports and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 4–8 years of relevant industry experience in process technology, chemical engineering, refining or petrochemical environments.
