Mechanical Design Engineer – CAD & Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a creative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our fast‑growing team in Sanand. You will work on both proposal and detailed engineering tasks, delivering technical solutions that meet client specifications and tender requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret design briefs and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Create 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Prepare general arrangement drawings, layouts, and detailed fabrication documents.
• Update design submittals per client requirements via Teams, email, and other communication channels.
• Obtain client approvals and compile complete manufacturing packages, including detailed drawings, sub‑assemblies, weld maps, and sheet‑metal cutting layouts.
• Perform design calculations and safety analyses in line with Indian and international standards such as IS 800, AISC, and AWWA.
• Collaborate with multicultural teams across different time zones.

Required profile

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in CAD/design engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing project needs and work flexibly.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (including iLogic).
• Experience with sheet‑metal design, mechanized welding, and machining (DFM).
• Knowledge of GD&T, welding standards, and fits & tolerances.
• Ability to perform structural and fluid design calculations using Excel and conduct FEA analysis.
• Familiarity with MathCAD, Ansys Fluent, and SAP/ERP/PDM tools.
