Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Data Center

About the role

The CX Mechanical Engineer will lead the planning, execution and management of commissioning activities for mission‑critical mechanical and thermal systems in hyperscale data centre environments. The role ensures that all mechanical infrastructure is installed, tested, integrated and handed over in full compliance with project requirements, safety standards and operational objectives, supporting high‑availability and energy‑efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end mechanical commissioning from pre‑functional testing through integrated systems testing (IST) and final handover.
• Develop and follow approved commissioning plans, schedules and quality standards, coordinating phased and systems‑based strategies typical of hyperscale delivery.
• Commission and validate chilled water systems, cooling towers, heat exchangers, air‑side equipment (CRAC/PAHU, AHU, FWU), direct‑to‑chip or hybrid liquid‑cooling solutions, HVAC distribution networks, fuel and lube oil systems, and make‑up water treatment facilities.
• Verify system performance under normal, abnormal and failure conditions, validating thermal performance, capacity, control response and efficiency against design intent.
• Plan, coordinate and lead commissioning activities with design engineers, construction teams, vendors, controls specialists and operations stakeholders, acting as the primary technical interface.

Required profile

• Proven experience commissioning mechanical systems in data centre or similar mission‑critical environments.
• Strong understanding of safety standards, project schedules and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage complex commissioning programmes.
