Manager - Process Safety & Emergency Response

About the role

The Manager – Process Safety & Emergency Response will support BASF sites in India and the Asia‑Pacific region to implement group EHS requirements, provide expert consultancy, and ensure compliance with legal and BASF standards for process safety.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and coordinate SHE review processes (SHE 0 to SHE 4) for new capital projects using ICI HAZOP or equivalent techniques.
• Lead periodic hazard analyses (“Revalidation” and “Clean Sheet” SHE reviews) for existing plants.
• Support sites in preparing for internal audits through questionnaire reviews, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Deliver process‑safety workshops, seminars, and training aligned with the regional training matrix.
• Translate global process‑safety goals into practical programs, tools, and roll‑out plans for Indian sites.
• Act as a competence centre and advisor on explosion protection, MOC critical changes, and non‑standard activities.
• Collaborate with the Regional Competence Center for new directives and ensure consistent implementation across sites.

Required profile

• Proven experience in process safety within an industrial or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of BASF Group EHS requirements and local regulatory standards.
• Ability to lead workshops, train teams, and mentor Process Safety Coordinators.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with regional and global safety centres.
