Legal Counsel – Property Law & Title Verification

About the role

Aditya Birla Capital Limited is seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to support its Risk and Legal department in Delhi. The role focuses on property law, title verification and documentation scrutiny for immovable‑property transactions, ensuring compliance and mitigating legal risks.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse Title Search Reports, legal opinions, revenue records and municipal/tax documents.
• Identify encumbrances, mortgages, litigations and any defects in title, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide written legal opinions on title‑related risks and advise business teams on compliance with land‑law regulations.
• Oversee stamping, registration and jurisdictional requirements for property‑backed transactions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure accurate documentation and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law.
• Experience in collection for mid‑market or corporate clients.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and high ethical standards.
• Effective communication and reporting abilities.
• Willingness to travel for on‑ground collection activities.

Required skills

• Technical proficiency in Management Information Systems (MIS).
• Experience with fraud detection and monitoring systems.
• Ability to understand complex deal structures and legal documentation.
