Lead Analyst, Retail Accounting

About the role

Levi Strauss & Co. is seeking a detail‑oriented Lead Analyst to own retail accounting close processes across the Americas. The role partners with Retail Operations, Finance and shared services to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly and year‑end close activities, including accruals, re‑classifications and analysis for retail and general ledger areas.
• Prepare, review and post journal entries with appropriate documentation and approvals.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items to meet SOX and internal‑control standards.
• Analyze P&L and balance‑sheet fluctuations, produce variance commentary and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and walkthroughs as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements, standardisation and automation opportunities.

Required profile

• CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) with 8+ years of RTR experience.
• Strong understanding of month‑end close, accounting fundamentals and retail cash/POS flows.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with minimal supervision.
• Experience supporting SOX compliance and audit documentation.

Required skills

• SAP / S/4HANA (or similar large ERP) with GL and sub‑ledger integration knowledge.
• Advanced Excel for complex financial modelling.
• Power BI (or similar) for reporting and reconciliation dashboards.
