About the role
We are seeking a hands‑on Junior Chef to oversee daily food operations at our small coffee shop in Kamla Nagar. The role involves preparing dishes, managing inventory, and ensuring high standards of hygiene and food safety.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare food consistently according to recipes and standards.
- Manage daily prep, kitchen opening/closing, and cleanliness.
- Maintain inventory, storage, and ingredient quality.
- Coordinate purchasing and minimize food wastage.
- Help develop and improve the menu.
- Maintain food costing, portions, and basic kitchen SOPs.
- Ensure hygiene and food‑safety standards.
- Work closely with the owner and front‑of‑house team.
- Train and manage kitchen helpers as the team grows.
Required profile
- Experience as a chef/cook in a café, restaurant, or similar setup.
- Organized, clean, reliable, and hands‑on.
- Comfortable working independently in a small team.
- Good understanding of food prep, inventory, and costing.
- Practical mindset with an ability to build simple systems.
