IT Business Analyst – Oil & Gas (3-8 yrs)

About the role

Deloitte’s Engineering, AI & Data team is looking for an IT Business Analyst with 3‑8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector. You will bridge business needs and technology solutions, ensuring functional excellence and driving innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non‑functional requirements and translate them into clear specifications.
• Assess risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impact of proposed solutions.
• Model processes, data flows, and technology landscapes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Create and maintain documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring traceability from requirements to testing.
• Collaborate with software suppliers, designers, and developers to address limitations and deliver system designs.
• Configure software and processes using agreed standards, define acceptance criteria, and validate solutions against business needs.
• Develop compelling business cases to secure approval, funding, and prioritisation.
• Lead stakeholder management activities, large design sessions, and business analysis teams.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and control analysis activities within agreed cost, time, and quality parameters.

Required profile

• B.Tech/BE in Computer Science/IT or B.Tech/B.Sc IT plus a full‑time MBA.
• 3‑8 years of experience, strong exposure to the Oil & Gas domain.
• Hands‑on experience with Agile projects and familiarity with Agile frameworks and tools.
• Understanding of systems engineering concepts, data/process analysis, and modelling.
• Agile certifications or trainings preferred; CBAP or PMI‑PBA certification is a plus.
• Lean Practitioner training and experience are an asset.
