Interior Cabin Trims Engineer

About the role

The Interior Cabin Trims Engineer will develop CAD concepts and solutions for interior cabin trim systems on automotive projects. Based in Pune, the role focuses on creating and supporting detailed designs for pillar trims, headliners, carpets, load‑space components, and NVH solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Generate CATIA V5/V6 body engineering CAD models for interior‑cabin trim parts.
• Lead CAD creation and maintain up‑to‑date data throughout the project lifecycle.
• Design and develop pillar trims (A, B, C‑Pillars), scuff plates, headliners, overhead consoles, carpets, load‑space trims, and NVH components.
• Validate manufacturing feasibility, manage interfaces and clearances, and escalate unresolved issues.
• Deliver all cabin system components on schedule, supporting APQP, DFMEA, DVP, and technical design reviews.
• Prepare design change requests, support purchasing in sourcing and RFQ activities, and assist vehicle launch and pre‑production builds.

Required profile

• 4–10 years of experience in automotive interior design or related engineering.
• Proven track record of delivering interior‑cabin trim projects in the automotive sector.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and meet program timelines.

Required skills

• Extensive experience with CATIA V5 and CATIA V6 (V6 preferred).
• Proficiency in Team Centre Engineering (TCE) for data management.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, CAE, Design Validation Plans (DVP) and APQP processes.
• Experience preparing Design Change Requests (DCR) and conducting technical design reviews.
• Familiarity with NVH analysis and vehicle specification documentation.
