Immigration Attorney

About the role

OpenVenture is seeking an experienced, client‑focused immigration attorney to join its growing legal team. The role involves preparing and managing employment‑based immigration petitions such as O‑1A, EB‑1A, EB‑2 NIW, and EB‑5, while providing strategic guidance to high‑skill professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, and investors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct consultations with prospective clients, explaining immigration pathways, eligibility, timelines, fees, and next steps.
• Evaluate client profiles and recommend strategies for O‑1A, EB‑1A, EB‑2 NIW, and EB‑5 cases.
• Prepare, review, and file Form I‑129, I‑140, I‑526, and I‑526E petitions.
• Develop case strategies, draft petition letters, legal briefs, recommendation letters, personal statements, and supporting narratives.
• Identify evidentiary gaps, conduct legal research, and stay current on USCIS regulations and policy updates.
• Respond to Requests for Evidence and Notices of Intent to Deny.
• Coordinate with attorneys, employers, agents, recommenders, regional centers, banks, and tax professionals.
• Maintain organized case files, manage multiple deadlines, and support post‑petition matters such as adjustment of status and consular processing.

Required profile

• Direct experience preparing employment‑based immigration petitions (O‑1A, EB‑1A, EB‑2 NIW, EB‑5).
• Strong client‑service orientation and ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
• Proven ability to develop persuasive narratives and identify weaknesses in evidence.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of USCIS regulations, policy guidance, and visa bulletin trends.

Required skills

• Expertise in U.S. immigration law, especially employment‑based categories.
• Proficiency with immigration forms I‑129, I‑140, I‑526, I‑526E.
• Legal research and drafting of petitions, briefs, and supporting documents.
