Health, Safety, Environment & Fire Manager

About the role

Reliance Carbon Fiber is seeking a senior professional to lead Health, Safety, Environment and Fire (HSEF) functions across its manufacturing site. The role ensures compliance with Reliance and statutory regulations, drives continuous improvement in safety performance, and safeguards personnel and assets in a 24/7 operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret Reliance and statutory EHS regulations and translate them into practical internal procedures.
• Develop and maintain training systems and tools for HSEF competency.
• Plan, execute and monitor site HSEF audits, ensuring timely reporting to internal and external authorities.
• Track and report HSE performance metrics, including KPIs and audit outcomes.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the Reliance Loss Prevention Team.
• Guarantee 24 × 7 availability of fire‑fighting resources and oversee related training.
• Support process safety management (PSM) and enforce LOTO, hot‑work and confined‑space procedures.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date emergency response plan and conduct regular drills.
• Ensure fire‑fighting equipment and tools are inspected, tested and compliant with RIL and statutory standards.
• Keep product safety data sheets for raw materials and auxiliary chemicals current.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety/Environment engineering or a related discipline with an engineering background.
• 11 – 14 years of experience managing site HSEF functions, preferably in man‑made fiber or composite manufacturing.
• Proven track record leading a site HSEF team operating continuous processes with 24/7 shift rotation.
• Exposure to acrylic fiber, carbon fiber and composite industries.
• Experience coordinating fire‑fighting teams and handling hazardous chemicals.
• Strong shop‑floor leadership with analytical aptitude.
