General Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated General Maintenance Technician to join the facilities management team at Grand Mercure Mysore, India. You will be responsible for keeping all building systems, equipment and infrastructure operating smoothly, supporting a high‑standard hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of premises, building systems and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other systems to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and plumbing problems and implement effective solutions.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns, maintaining composure under pressure.
• Install, service and repair equipment and fixtures, ensuring safety compliance.
• Maintain detailed service logs, spare‑parts inventory and equipment performance records.
• Monitor equipment performance and utility systems, recommending improvements and cost optimisation.
• Clean and service filters, coils, ducts and ventilation components.
• Follow all safety procedures, regulations and OSHA guidelines.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs when required.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to minimise operational disruption.
