Forklift Operator – 36k‑65k lb Capacity (Industrial Pipe)

About the role

Watco is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to work at the Greensport Terminal in Houston. The position involves operating high‑capacity forklifts (36 000‑65 000 lb) in an industrial pipe and heavy‑cargo environment, handling oversized materials such as pipe, coils, and crates.

Key responsibilities

• Operate 36k‑65k lb forklifts (e.g., Hyster, Taylor) safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre‑shift and ongoing equipment inspections.
• Communicate with operational stakeholders throughout the shift.
• Follow all Watco and OSHA personal protective equipment requirements.
• Assist team members, follow work rules, and take on additional duties as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Forklift operator certification preferred.
