Executive Director, Family Enterprise Centre

About the role

The Indian School of Business is seeking an Executive Director to lead the Thomas Schmidheiny Centre for Family Enterprise. This senior position combines academic leadership with strategic outreach to shape research, practice, and policy on family businesses in emerging markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive a high‑impact research agenda in collaboration with ISB faculty and global scholars.
• Build and nurture trust‑based relationships with family enterprises, institutions, and international networks.
• Translate research insights into teaching modules and executive education programmes.
• Set the Centre’s strategic direction, manage resources, and ensure financial sustainability.
• Represent the Centre within ISB governance structures and external advisory bodies.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in academia or research institutions, preferably in family business or related fields.
• Strong track record of publishing in top academic outlets and influencing practice.
• Ability to engage senior business families and policy makers.
• Strategic thinking with disciplined execution skills.
