Engineer, Product Design

About the role

Support PSBU High Power programs by delivering mechanical design solutions for new products, modifications, standard options, and sustaining engineering. You’ll translate voice‑of‑customer needs into manufacturable designs and drive projects through the product development process with cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Execute mechanical design work for new product development (NPD), modifications (MOD), and sustaining projects to meet performance, cost, and schedule targets.
• Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to define requirements and deliver VOC‑aligned solutions.
• Create and maintain key design outputs such as 3D models, drawings, specifications, DVP&R, tolerance stack‑ups, and test summaries.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, AQP, tooling, reliability, product management, sales and other teams to ensure manufacturability and smooth releases.
• Manage engineering change requests (ECR/ECN) and maintain design/configuration integrity.
• Plan and prioritize work with your manager, applying PBM principles in daily execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in product design or development.
• Experience with engineering documentation and release deliverables (drawings, specs, verification plans).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
• Working knowledge of engineering change management.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Siemens NX.
• Experience designing molded, stamped, machined, and plated parts.
• Exposure to high‑power/high‑voltage products such as connectors or cable assemblies (a plus).
• SAP experience (Material Master/BOM).
• FEA and thermal simulation experience.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
