Duty Engineer

About the role

The Duty Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily engineering operations of an Accor hotel, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and building systems run smoothly and safely. You will lead a team of technicians, coordinate maintenance activities, and support the Chief Engineer in maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily engineering briefings with the Chief Engineer and assign work to staff.
• Plan, schedule, and document both preventive and corrective maintenance for air‑conditioning, electrical, refrigeration, fire‑life‑safety (FLS) equipment, plumbing, drainage, kitchen and laundry equipment, low‑voltage systems, and other hotel facilities.
• Supervise technicians, provide feedback, and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
• Prepare consumption reports for power, water, steam, and gas.
• Monitor contractor work to ensure adherence to contracts and safety standards.
• Identify workflow improvements and communicate service disruptions to the Chief Engineer.
• Manage team performance, conduct inductions, schedule training, and oversee staff scheduling.
• Maintain familiarity with fire and life‑safety procedures and comply with all hotel policies.

Required profile

• Secondary/high‑school education or a Diploma in ITI/Trade Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role within hospitality.
• Good reading and oral proficiency in English.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and training abilities.
