Custodian / Janitorial Staff (Contract) – Snellville, GA

About the role

The Facility Custodian supports research staff by keeping patient rooms, offices, pharmacy, laboratory and common areas clean, orderly and safe. This part‑time contract position works three days a week on weekdays, with occasional weekend coverage as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize hallways, offices, restrooms, break rooms and shared spaces.
• Perform routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and floor polishing.
• Safely handle non‑hazardous waste and recycling; coordinate hazardous waste procedures with trained staff.
• Maintain cleanliness in lab support areas while respecting restricted‑access policies.
• Restock soap, paper products and general supplies.
• Clean light fixtures, windows, high‑touch surfaces and shared equipment.
• Follow facility protocols for PPE, restricted zones and contamination prevention.
• Report safety hazards, spills or equipment issues promptly.
• Assist with event or room setup when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior custodial or facilities experience; experience in research, healthcare or laboratory settings is a plus.
• Ability to follow strict cleaning and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and good communication skills.
• Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
