Culinarian

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Culinarian to join the kitchen team at The Ritz‑Carlton Pune. In this full‑time, non‑management position you will support the preparation and cooking of high‑quality dishes while maintaining our standards of safety and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, using ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Prepare cold foods and ensure proper portioning and plating.
• Test foods for doneness, monitor food quality, and maintain temperature controls.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any issues to the manager.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related culinary experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and temperature control.
