Cost Accountant – Manufacturing Analytics COE

About the role

Caterpillar is looking for a skilled Accountant (Costing) to join the Analytics Center of Excellence – Manufacturing Tower in Bangalore. The role will be based at the Whitefield office and focuses on manufacturing accounting, capital management, and financial analysis to support cost‑reduction projects and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Support management with cost analysis, variance root‑cause investigation and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Participate in business‑unit month‑end close, providing required inputs and reports to corporate stakeholders.
• Report inventory metrics, calculate aging, excess, surplus and obsolete inventory per Caterpillar guidelines.
• Review balance‑sheet items, analyze manufacturing metrics and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Account for capital expenses in the Capital Management System, prepare accounting papers and validate fixed‑asset records.
• Perform financial analysis, generate cost reports, and provide commentary to leadership.
• Use statistical simulation tools to support forecasting, budgeting and decision‑support scenarios.
