Care Buddy – Provide Compassionate Support for Seniors

About the role

The Care Buddy is the primary point of contact and friendly face for seniors enrolled with Prayojana. You will support assigned members with empathy, warmth, and practical assistance, helping them lead a comfortable, independent life.

Key responsibilities

• Check on members daily for well‑being and address any immediate needs.
• Assist with errands such as banking, grocery or vegetable procurement.
• Schedule doctor appointments, accompany members, and arrange periodic lab visits.
• Help resolve technology issues, including setting up WhatsApp, internet troubleshooting, and using social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
• Visit members at least once a week, educate them on emergency procedures, and coordinate emergency response when needed.
• Update medical records in the Prayojana Health App and monitor medication inventory.
• Provide companionship: accompany members on walks, social events, concerts, and arrange transportation and tickets.
• Manage a maximum of ten members simultaneously.

Required profile

• High integrity, trustworthiness, and willingness to be on‑call 24/7 for emergencies.
• Strong empathy, patience, punctuality, and commitment to seniors' comfort.
• Independent, reliable, and able to go the extra mile for members.
• Possession of a personal two‑wheeler (bike or scooter) for travel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is a plus but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Basic computer and internet proficiency.
• Experience with WhatsApp and internet troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
