About the role

The Vehicle Dynamics Components team at Ather is looking for a Brakes Engineer to lead the integration of braking systems into our intelligent scooters. You will be the primary liaison between internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring that brake solutions meet performance, safety, and cost targets from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

  • Integrate brake systems by collaborating with suppliers and managing all internal and external communication.
  • Create standardized engineering drawings and ensure successful Teamcenter release for brake components.
  • Evaluate vendor‑supplied braking systems, generate design concepts, and define system and EOL requirements.
  • Own internal interfaces, conduct Interaction FMEAs, and follow the Design Maturity Model.
  • Draft and execute Design Verification Plans and innovative test plans that reflect real‑world use cases.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis (Pareto, Ishikawa, 5 Why, FMEA) and resolve bugs across field, assembly, and material domains.

Required profile

  • B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/M.E. in Mechanical or Machine Design.
  • 4–8 years of experience in brake system design and development.
  • Deep technical knowledge of drum or disc braking systems and component sizing.
  • Proficiency in DFx principles and familiarity with automotive quality and homologation standards.
  • Good understanding of vehicle dynamics testing and combined braking systems (CBS) for two‑wheelers is a plus.
