Assistant Manager – Unit Planner, Manufacturing Process Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Unit Planner will lead production planning for a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation, ensuring schedules meet demand forecasts while complying with strict regulatory standards. This role bridges sales, procurement, quality, and manufacturing teams to deliver products on time and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and customer orders.
• Coordinate with procurement, quality assurance, warehouse, and manufacturing teams to align plans.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to avoid delays and ensure timely delivery.
• Guarantee planning complies with cGMP, USFDA, EMA, WHO, and internal quality standards.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements to reduce lead times.
• Prepare production reports and KPIs for senior management.
• Manage material requirement planning (MRP) to secure raw‑material availability.
• Participate in capacity planning and long‑term production strategy development.
• Maintain accurate documentation and planning systems such as SAP and ERP.

Required profile

• Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or M.Pharm) or an MBA.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Experience in material requirement planning (MRP).
• Strong knowledge of cGMP and regulatory frameworks (USFDA, EMA, WHO).
