Assistant Manager – Production

About the role

Autoliv is seeking an Assistant Manager – Production to lead day‑to‑day manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost. The role ensures efficient processes, strong team performance and continuous improvement within the Autoliv Production System (APS) while supporting customer and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations and achieve production targets.
• Ensure teams are properly resourced and follow APS standard processes.
• Drive Health & Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Delivery (PDD) performance.
• Conduct daily production meetings, communicate status, priorities and critical issues.
• Escalate risks and coordinate recovery actions to maintain uninterrupted flow.
• Optimize manufacturing and support processes for efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with work instructions, quality systems, environmental and labor regulations.
• Analyze production and quality reports, implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead productivity improvement and cost‑optimization projects.
• Develop and execute annual operating plans aligned with business goals.
• Implement Lean, JIT, Jidoka, Visual Management and World Class Manufacturing practices.
• Perform line‑balancing using MOST calculations and manpower optimization.
• Create value‑stream maps and identify waste‑elimination opportunities.
• Lead FMEA activities and support quality assurance for new processes.
• Promote Kaizen, Quality Circle and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Strengthen APS practices across the plant and share best practices with other Autoliv locations.
• Develop team capabilities through training, coaching and skill‑enhancement programs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of the Autoliv Production System (APS) or similar production frameworks.
• Ability to manage risks, drive recovery actions and maintain production flow.
• Excellent analytical skills for interpreting production and quality data.
• Effective communication and leadership skills to coach and develop teams.
