Airport Firefighter (ARFF Assistant)

About the role

The Airport Firefighter (ARFF Assistant) is responsible for responding to aircraft and structural fire emergencies, medical incidents, hazardous material situations, and other emergencies within the airport premises. The role ensures the safety of passengers, crew, and airport personnel through firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to aircraft incidents, structural fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous material incidents on airport property.
• Extinguish fires using water, foam, dry chemicals, and other agents; conduct search and rescue in smoke‑filled or hazardous environments.
• Provide first aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) until advanced medical personnel arrive; assist in patient transport as needed.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance of firefighting vehicles, extinguishers, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain inventory of firefighting supplies, participate in ICAO‑mandated training, fire drills, and emergency simulations.
• Document incidents, training records, and shift logs for regulatory audits; adhere to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
