Systems Engineer – Application Specialist (M/F/D)

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Application Specialist to join our digital workplace team. You will be responsible for the operation, stability, and optimisation of central Windows workplace applications used by BASF employees worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical application support for Windows workplace tools such as Adobe Acrobat and SAP GUI.
• Analyse incidents, resolve technical issues and support problem‑management activities.
• Act as technical owner for assigned applications, ensuring stability, performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with the Value Owner to influence roadmap decisions and contribute to cross‑functional projects.
• Steer external service providers from a technical perspective and drive continuous service improvements.
• Implement and improve support processes, monitor SLA performance and report on service metrics.
• Support the introduction of new technologies, evaluate upgrades and document knowledge for ServiceDesk and end‑users.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in Windows application support.
• Experience analysing incidents and delivering root‑cause solutions.
• Ability to work in an international, multi‑disciplinary environment.
• Proactive attitude towards process optimisation and service quality.
