Sr Buyer, Global Procurement Central Services

About the role

The Senior Buyer for Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) supports Amazon fulfilment centres by ensuring a reliable supply of non‑inventory packaging goods and services. Reporting to the GPCS Procurement Manager for APAC, the role combines daily operational procurement with strategic process improvements across a cluster of fulfilment centres.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process‑improvement initiatives and manage related projects.
• Conduct weekly and monthly business reviews and support change‑management for new shipping‑supply materials.
• Plan and execute daily forecasts, material management, and purchase order creation for non‑inventory packaging supplies.
• Liaise with suppliers to secure timely deliveries and communicate accurate schedules to local receiving teams.
• Develop relationships with internal customers, external suppliers, and other Amazon teams.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon’s Spending and Transaction Policy and manage truck delivery planning.
• Act as escalation point of contact to guarantee on‑time off‑loading of deliveries.
• Collaborate with operations to mitigate space constraints and reduce invoices on hold.
• Support regional buyers, provide training to new buyers, and deliver procurement metrics, cost‑savings, and KPI targets.
• Perform compliance checks on purchase requisitions, manage procurement catalogs, and execute vendor onboarding tasks.

Required profile

• Fluent in spoken, written, and read English.
• Experience in finance, supply‑chain management, business, IT, or related procurement fields.
• Proven experience leading procurement or supply‑chain projects at a regional scale.
• Preferred: fluency in Italian, French, or German.
