Software Engineer

About the role

The HR Employee Experience Engineering team at Microsoft builds and continuously improves critical internal products that empower the workforce. As a Software Engineer you will contribute to AI‑enabled solutions that automate routine tasks, surface relevant information, and provide predictive insights for employees.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, privacy/security experts, and technical leads to gather and clarify feature requirements.
• Review and test code to ensure compliance with team standards, adequate test coverage, and readiness for delivery.
• Design, prototype, and evaluate multiple implementation options, highlighting strengths and weaknesses.
• Develop and integrate new product features, reusing existing code where appropriate.
• Apply AI tools and large‑language‑model assistants throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Implement secure coding practices, model "security as code," and adopt security standards for code reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while delivering high‑quality, maintainable code.
• Strong technical expertise combined with business acumen and experience at massive scale.
