Shift Engineer – PTA 7 – DMD

About the role

The Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring smooth production operations during assigned shifts. Working closely with the shift superintendent, the role involves supervising the crew, monitoring equipment, and maintaining safety and quality standards to meet production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and executing the shift operation plan in line with standards and regulations.
• Perform equipment monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data analysis using the OMPro tool.
• Conduct routine inspections, coordinate maintenance activities, and manage safe shutdown/start‑up procedures.
• Maintain shift logs, perform risk assessments, and lead toolbox talks.
• Identify root causes of failures, recommend corrective actions, and support plant upsets.
• Collaborate with other plants to manage raw‑material SOCs and coordinate with the maintenance department for job planning.

Required profile

• Knowledge of rotary machine seal systems, including seal‑pot level and pressure.
• Understanding of compressor lubrication systems (temperature, pressure, flow).
• Familiarity with LO/LC valve status and field instrument locations.
• Ability to differentiate regular, one‑time, and shutdown jobs.
• Strong safety focus with experience in risk assessment and emergency shutdown mitigation.
