Shift Engineer – Production Operations

About the role

The Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring smooth production operations during assigned shifts. Working closely with the shift superintendent, the role oversees the crew, monitors equipment performance, and supports maintenance activities to meet production targets while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and executing the shift operation plan in line with standards and regulations.
• Perform equipment monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data analysis using the OMPro tool.
• Conduct routine inspections, coordinate maintenance, and manage safe hand‑over/turn‑over (HOTO) of equipment.
• Supervise shutdown and start‑up procedures, ensuring proper preservation of assets during extended outages.
• Identify risks, conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks, and implement corrective actions to prevent emergency shutdowns.
• Maintain detailed shift logs and support plant upsets and improvement trials.
• Coordinate with maintenance, other plants, and raw‑material supply teams to ensure continuous operation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in shift‑based production environments, preferably in heavy‑industry or process plants.
• Strong understanding of rotary machine seal systems, compressor lubrication systems, and LO/LC valve status.
• Ability to read and interpret instrumentation and field locations.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional coordination.
• Commitment to safety, risk assessment, and continuous improvement.
