Senior Performance Test Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer to join its performance tuning and Linux administration team. You will have a direct impact on critical Mastercard services by analysing, tuning, and optimizing workloads running on Linux VMs or containers.

Key responsibilities

• Enable complex performance testing, monitoring, and tuning of KVM virtual machines and Linux (RHEL/CentOS) hosts.
• Analyze system resource usage and configure CPU and memory allocations.
• Collaborate with development teams to provide performance‑related design input.
• Create architecture, operations, troubleshooting documentation and run‑books.
• Perform data analysis and root‑cause investigations using manual and automated techniques.
• Stay current with emerging cloud and virtualization technologies.
• Apply machine‑learning techniques to build real‑time analytics models.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to improve product quality and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in the software industry, with at least 5 years in performance testing and Linux system administration.
• Proven experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) systems, including kernel and user‑space components.
