Production Engineer – Billet Preparation Section

About the role

The Production Engineer will lead the Billet Preparation Section, ensuring smooth daily operations, high quality output, and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. You will work closely with operators, senior planners, and cross‑functional teams to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Cross‑check and enter production data in the PPC system and analyse stoppages, traveller days and production trends.
• Update the whiteboard daily, lead whiteboard meetings and address cross‑functional safety, maintenance and quality issues.
• Rapidly resolve equipment breakdowns, communicate potential problems and monitor tool life and stock availability.
• Monitor FIFO flow, ensure delivery precision and maintain ISO‑9001, ISO‑14001 and ISO‑45001 compliance.
• Promote 5S, TPM and Kaizen initiatives, conduct monthly TPM audits and quarterly 5S audits.
• Prepare monthly MIS reports for Kaizen, coordinate Kaizen awards and maintain the Kaizen master sheet.
• Encourage near‑miss reporting, uphold excellent housekeeping and foster a strong team spirit.
• Support EHS policies, report hazards and contribute to a zero‑harm vision.

Required profile

• Good understanding of work instructions, SOPs and machine operating procedures in the billet section.
• Familiarity with Alleima’s EHS, quality and environmental policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with operators, senior planners and other departments.
• Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and safety culture.
