Principal BizOps Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Principal BizOps Engineer to act as a technical authority and operational architect across its most critical platforms. In this senior individual‑contributor role you will shape reliability strategy, define standards, and drive operational excellence at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement production‑readiness and operational‑resilience practices for business‑critical services.
• Lead deep incident ownership, root‑cause analysis, and feedback loops to engineering teams.
• Influence architecture and design decisions early (shift‑left) to embed reliability, security, and compliance.
• Develop and standardize repeatable, low‑toil processes, automation, and observability frameworks.
• Partner with product engineering, security, and leadership to ensure platforms are highly available, performant, and auditable.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in large‑scale Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps environments.
• Proven ability to influence without formal authority and drive data‑based decisions.
• Strong understanding of operational risk, compliance, and enterprise‑grade risk management.
• Track record of building self‑healing, automation‑driven systems.
