Plant Manager

About the role

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall performance of a manufacturing facility. This role ensures safety, efficiency, cost control, and product quality while driving continuous improvement across all plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage safety, environmental compliance, and overall facility efficiency.
• Control costs and ensure on‑time delivery of products.
• Test, monitor, and optimise plant processes.
• Maintain product and effluent quality standards.
• Oversee raw material, energy, and utility consumption.
• Plan and execute operator training and utilisation.
• Direct daily operations of the plant.
• Ensure compliance with IMS standards and HSE guidelines.
• Prepare, analyse, and issue production and performance reports.
• Maintain all administrative records.
• Control costs to meet budget objectives.
• Track daily downtime and perform root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Proven experience liaising with site support functions for accurate decision‑making.
• Collaboration with shift supervisors on labour requirements.
• Responsibility for defining operator training needs and competency.
• Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical (BE Chemical) or equivalent.
