Operational Buyer (Indirect) – Procurement

About the role

Lonza is looking for an Operational Buyer (Indirect) to support the sourcing of goods and services that keep our multi‑site operations running smoothly. You will act as a key liaison between internal teams and approved suppliers, ensuring purchases are compliant, timely, and aligned with our life‑science mission.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate purchase requisitions and approval workflows for indirect goods, services, and CAPEX.
• Create, manage, and monitor purchase orders with approved suppliers to guarantee policy compliance and on‑time delivery.
• Track supplier performance, escalating issues to strategic buyers or category managers when necessary.
• Promote the use of approved digital purchasing tools to increase efficiency and automation.
• Provide first‑level support for procurement, system, and invoice‑related queries.
• Redirect requisitions according to established sourcing strategies and guidance.

Required profile

• Experience in indirect procurement, purchasing, or supply‑chain operations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting several stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal teams and suppliers.
• Attention to detail and commitment to following policies and processes.
• A collaborative mindset focused on service and continuous improvement.
