Manager AI Engineer

About the role

Mastercard’s Business & Market Insights group is seeking a Manager AI Engineer to lead the Machine Learning Engineering team for its Operational Intelligence Program. The role drives AI/ML strategy, builds scalable intelligent systems, and ensures high‑performance, secure software delivery that supports business growth and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Implement multi‑agent intelligence frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, and AutoGen to enable coordinated AI decision‑making.
• Design and operationalize multi‑modal AI pipelines that combine text, image, tabular, and graph data using transformer models (BERT, CLIP, LLaVA, T5, Whisper).
• Build and productionize Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and Graph‑RAG systems with vector stores and knowledge graphs (Neo4j, AWS Neptune).
• Develop transformer‑based models for NLP, vision‑language, and sequential prediction tasks leveraging Hugging Face, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
• Create Python‑based backend services for inference orchestration, asynchronous job handling, and distributed data workflows.
• Establish end‑to‑end LLMOps and MLOps pipelines on Databricks (AWS) integrating MLflow, feature stores, model lineage, and continuous retraining.
• Apply traditional AI/ML and statistical techniques (regression, clustering, forecasting, ensemble methods) alongside deep learning for interpretability.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in machine‑learning engineering teams.
• Strong track record of delivering production‑grade AI solutions at scale.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to foster a culture of continuous learning.
