Legal Counsel

About the role

Siemens Energy India Limited is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide proactive legal support for its infrastructure projects and industrial product lines. The role involves advising management, business units, and project teams on a wide range of commercial, regulatory, and litigation matters.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft, negotiate and manage domestic and international commercial contracts, including consortium, supply, works, framework and government agreements.
• Provide timely legal advice on contract law, sale of goods, competition law, insolvency law and related commercial issues.
• Support business strategy formulation for contract and claim management with customers, partners, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Manage all litigation and dispute resolution processes, including coordinating external counsel across India.
• Prepare legal documents, represent the company through external lawyers, and develop standard agreement templates.
• Conduct training sessions on legal topics for corporate and business colleagues.
• Participate in internal process improvement initiatives and special projects for the global legal team.

Required profile

• Law degree with relevant professional qualification.
• Significant experience in commercial contract drafting, negotiation and litigation management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to the energy sector.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders at various organizational levels.
• High business orientation with a focus on problem‑solving while upholding ethics and integrity.
