FP&A Control Advisor

About the role

The FP&A Control Advisor will join BP's Finance FP&A organization, providing business planning, performance management and control assurance for designated entities. You will act as a key partner to finance and business teams, ensuring accurate reporting and robust internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the control and financial reporting review process for multiple entities, communicating results to leadership.
• Provide assurance on internal controls, working with FP&A and other process owners.
• Coordinate compliance with BP internal control policies and report any gaps.
• Build and maintain relationships with business teams to identify issues early and reinforce first‑line control requirements.
• Support internal and external audits with entity‑specific queries.
• Participate in statutory processes such as letters of representation, stock exchange announcements, annual reports, and ESG reporting.
• Manage variance analysis on actuals reporting and quarterly analytical reviews.
• Coach finance and business teams on control and reporting matters.
• Own cash & banking and period‑end close controls.
• Ensure application of the Group reporting manual and proper documentation of accounting judgments.

Required profile

• Recognized national or international professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Strong understanding of financial control, accounting processes and IFRS.
• Post‑qualification IFRS advisory experience and proven delivery in corporate controllership.
• Extensive experience in IFRS financial reporting and management reporting.
