Buyer – Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS)

About the role

The GPCS Buyer supports Amazon fulfilment centres by managing the procurement of non‑inventory packaging supplies. You will ensure a steady flow of goods and services at the best overall value, while maintaining compliance with Amazon’s spending policies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily forecasts and materials management for packaging supplies.
• Create purchase orders and liaise with suppliers to secure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate truck deliveries, schedule time slots, and communicate schedules to local receiving teams.
• Act as escalation point to ensure off‑loading meets agreed timelines.
• Collaborate with operations and on‑site procurement teams to mitigate space constraints.
• Manage invoice on‑hold requests and drive down outstanding balances.
• Support other regional buyers and provide training to new hires.
• Deliver procurement metrics, cost‑savings targets, and avoid stock‑out situations.
• Perform compliance checks on requisitions, maintain procurement catalogs, and onboard new vendors.

Required profile

• Advanced English proficiency (CEFR B2/C1).
• Experience with MS Office, especially MS Excel.
• Fluency in Italian and French is preferred.
