Billing Specialist – Energy Utilities (Hyderabad)

About the role

The Billing Specialist will manage residential and commercial invoicing for regulated and deregulated electric and gas utilities. Working within the SAP billing platform, you will ensure timely, accurate billing in line with client policies and regional energy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve transactional and customer billing queries using the Exceptions Management Framework.
• Validate standard and complex product billing during daily audit processes.
• Analyze and correct failed market transactions, billing errors, and invoicing issues.
• Create, review, edit, and validate billing documents for completeness.
• Submit invoices according to customer specifications and adhere to KPIs and SLAs.
• Escalate unresolved issues to leads or supervisors promptly.
• Calculate adjustments and issue corrected invoices as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1‑2 years of experience in customer‑facing problem solving or issue resolution.
• Strong knowledge of regional energy policies and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and meet fixed US time‑zone hours.
