Associate Software Engineer – Backend (Java/Go)

About the role

DigiCert is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join its backend team. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality services that power our AI‑driven DigiCert ONE platform, handling everything from requirement refinement to production monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners to clarify and refine functional requirements.
• Design system architecture, data models, APIs, and integration points.
• Develop backend services in Java or Go with clean, maintainable code.
• Write automated unit and integration tests and maintain CI pipelines.
• Perform code reviews and enforce engineering standards.
• Deploy, operate, and monitor services using containers and Kubernetes.
• Handle edge cases, error budgets, resiliency, and security considerations.
• Create technical documentation, including designs and runbooks.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of professional experience in backend engineering with Java or Go.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable APIs and services.
• Familiarity with relational databases, caching, and messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and Git version control.
• Knowledge of observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing) like New Relic or Splunk.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and performance tuning.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and service meshes.
