Assistant Professor of Computer Science (AI)

About the role

The department seeks an Assistant Professor in Computer Science specializing in Artificial Intelligence to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, conduct research, and support curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Teach AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science, NLP, Computer Vision, Python/R programming, and Database Management Systems.
• Prepare lesson plans, lecture notes, assignments, and assessments; supervise labs and projects.
• Evaluate student performance through exams, presentations, and continuous assessment.
• Mentor students for academic and career development.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish in Scopus/UGC‑Care/SCI indexed venues, and apply for grants, patents, and consultancy.
• Participate in faculty development programmes, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Assist in curriculum design, accreditation activities (NAAC/NBA/AICTE/UGC), and organize AI‑focused events.
• Support admission counselling, placement activities, and other university initiatives.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or IT; M.Tech in Computer Science, AI, or Data Science (mandatory).
• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline preferred as per UGC‑AICTE norms.
• NET/SET qualification where applicable.
• 0–3 years of experience (fresh Ph.D. or industry exposure acceptable).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of AI/ML algorithms and frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit‑learn.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in R programming and Database Management Systems.
