Assistant Manager - Designer (Men's Formal Woven Wear)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Designer will lead the creation of seasonal collections for men's formal woven apparel, including shirts, trousers, blazers, suits and jackets. You will translate global fashion insights into distinctive designs that align with business goals and customer preferences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop seasonal collections for men's formal woven wear.
• Research global fashion trends, fabric innovations, colour forecasts and market dynamics.
• Create mood boards, sketches, design concepts and detailed technical specifications.
• Collaborate with merchandising, sourcing, product development and buying teams.
• Select appropriate fabrics, trims, embellishments and construction techniques.
• Maintain seasonal colour palettes, fabric stories and design themes.
• Work with pattern makers and sample development teams to ensure design intent is realised.
• Conduct fit sessions, provide feedback on construction, fit, styling and finishing.
• Monitor sample development timelines and ensure timely execution.
• Analyse competitor products to identify differentiation opportunities.
• Ensure designs meet quality, cost and manufacturability requirements while preserving aesthetics.
• Prepare design presentations and collection reviews for internal stakeholders.
• Support vendor interactions and factory visits for product development.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing men's formal woven apparel.
• Strong knowledge of fashion trends, fabric properties and colour forecasting.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent eye for detail and strong aesthetic sensibility.
• Experience managing the end‑to‑end design process from concept to sample approval.
