Testing & Validation Engineer – Electrical Connectors (Bangalore)

About the role

We are looking for a Testing and Validation Engineer to lead validation activities for electrical connectors and interconnect systems. The role involves ensuring mechanical integrity, electrical performance, and environmental robustness across the product development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute validation test plans covering insertion/extraction force, retention force, durability, contact resistance, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, vibration, thermal shock, salt spray, and moisture ingress.
• Apply industry standards such as USCAR, IEC, ISO, and JOEM to assess product compliance.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on test failures and collaborate with cross‑functional teams for corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed validation reports with data analysis, observations, and compliance conclusions.
• Coordinate with internal and external test labs and manage test equipment.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in connector testing or automotive validation.
• Strong knowledge of connector types, materials, and failure modes.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with multimeters, hipot testers, thermal chambers, vibration rigs, and microscopes.
• Proficiency in testing standards (USCAR, IEC, ISO, JOEM).
• Competence with MS Project, MS Office, and CAD/CAE tools for fixture design.
• Excellent technical writing for test plans, procedures, and reports.
