Technical Support Engineer

About the role

Wowza Media Systems is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join its global support team. You will provide expert assistance for Wowza’s media streaming products, helping customers troubleshoot complex video delivery workflows and ensuring service level agreements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support for Wowza products across a variety of customer deployments.
• Maintain SLA compliance and track performance metrics.
• Reproduce and resolve customer issues by mirroring real‑world configurations.
• Contribute to the knowledge base and improve documentation.
• Mentor junior support staff and share best practices.
• Work non‑traditional EU shifts as required.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in media streaming support or related fields.
• Prior experience in a SaaS, Service Desk, or cloud‑based environment.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while meeting productivity targets.

Required skills

• Media streaming technologies: live and on‑demand video/audio, codecs, encoding, media players.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP, UDP, ICMP, bandwidth, latency.
• Operating systems and virtualization: Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS, Android, VMware.
• Programming/web languages: Java, XML, HTML, JavaScript.
• Streaming protocols: RTMP(S), RTP/RTSP, Apple HLS, LL‑HLS, WebRTC, CMAF.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure.
• Experience with Wowza products is a plus.
