Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures that all quality management (QM) rules are applied in line with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, VDA and AIAG standards. The role addresses and resolves quality issues, provides technical guidance for process improvements at suppliers, and promotes a proactive QM mindset across the business unit.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and engineering teams on product development to define process parameters and ensure supplier capability for critical products and processes.
• Drive improvements in the Supplier Quality Management system and manage Quality Assurance Agreements (QSV) with suppliers.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, audits (potential, annual, product, process) and identify areas for improvement.
• Monitor supplier performance, validate 8D reports, collect failure cost data and support procurement for compensation.
• Lead supplier nomination, APQP support, OTS and PPAP activities, and project audits.
• Apply quality tools (Cp/Cpk, SPC, R&R, 8D) to analyze and improve supplier quality performance.
• Manage supplier changes based on quality, cost savings and customer requirements.
• Maintain QM documentation, audit records and ensure compliance with ISO and customer‑specific requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in quality functions, including supplier quality management.
• Proven ability to work with global teams and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills
