Senior QA Engineer - AI & Cloud Services

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to ensure the quality, performance, and security of its Core AI Services on the AVEVA Connect platform. You will work within a Scrum team, collaborating with developers and data scientists to build robust, automated testing solutions for cloud‑native AI services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform functional, performance, and security testing on Azure‑based services.
• Design and implement automated test suites for APIs, service components, and AI pipelines.
• Automate evaluation of AI outputs to verify accuracy, consistency, and safety.
• Collaborate with developers and data scientists to define service‑level quality metrics and observability hooks.
• Validate services against AI regulatory frameworks, ensuring fairness, traceability, and robustness.
• Participate in threat modelling and security validation of exposed APIs.
• Provide early‑stage feedback to reduce defects and improve design.
• Mentor junior testers and promote a culture of continuous learning.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in software testing or QA for cloud‑native applications.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to analyse complex technical challenges.
• Experience testing stochastic or AI‑driven systems.
• Proven ability to work in Agile, globally distributed teams.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure and .NET technologies.
• Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerised test environments.
• API testing, performance profiling, and security testing.
• Automated testing framework design.
• LLM evaluation techniques, prompt engineering, RAG, model orchestration, and hallucination detection.
• AI safety, bias detection, and explainability methods.
