About the role

The Senior Director, Software Engineering leads the Payment Products Development team at Visa, driving the creation and delivery of high‑quality software solutions that address complex business challenges and enhance user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and testing of automation frameworks and contribute to core product code.
• Deliver high‑quality products and features, managing the process from idea through design, development, testing, and release deployment.
• Ensure timely delivery of assigned modules within an agile team setting.
• Accurately scope efforts, identify risks, and communicate trade‑offs with team members and stakeholders.
• Coordinate and participate in Continuous Integration activities.
• Communicate status updates, issues, and potential risks promptly and accurately.
• Perform tasks related to data governance and system infrastructure as required.

Required profile

• 12+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 15+ years of experience.
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams delivering complex applications.
• Experience managing the full product lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Strong background in agile methodologies and continuous integration practices.
• Ability to assess risk, scope effort, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Experience contributing to automation frameworks and core product code.
• Preferred: advanced degree (Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD) with 9+ years of experience, or 15+ years with a Bachelor’s.
• Track record of driving innovation, adaptability, post‑deployment support, and release management.
