Repair & Maintenance Shift Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the Halol (Gujarat) facility. Reporting to the Industrial Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for planning, maintaining and improving the efficiency of equipment and production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage equipment maintenance in line with timelines, cost and resource targets.
• Analyse complex problems, develop solutions and support production commissioning.
• Prepare and monitor the annual maintenance budget and track cost effectiveness.
• Collaborate with operations to define maintenance plans and improve reliability and safety.
• Perform routine set‑up, adjustments, simple repairs and replacement of parts.
• Ensure availability of required spares and tools for scheduled work.
• Develop life‑cycle management procedures for new and existing equipment.
• Maintain and update technical documentation for equipment and facilities.
• Respond to emergencies, breakdowns and safety observations to minimise production disruption.
• Coordinate with suppliers, monitor AMC services and manage service contracts.

Required profile

• Experience in maintenance engineering within an industrial environment.
• Strong analytical ability to solve technical problems.
• Familiarity with health, safety and environmental guidelines.
• Ability to work in shift and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Mechanical, electrical or mechatronic knowledge.
• Equipment reliability and lifecycle management.
• Technical documentation handling.
